The Templeton Philharmonic are a Toronto-based comedy duo comprised of Gwynne Phillips (HBO’s SENSITIVE SKIN, PBS’s ODD SQUAD) and Briana Templeton (SyFy’s THE EXPANSE, The Comedy Network’s THE BEAVERTON). The two are known for their sketches which blend period pieces, surrealism, dance sequences and biting social commentary – all with a feminist bent. The pair have performed on stages across North America – including the San Francisco Sketch Comedy Festival, The People’s Improv Theater and UCB in New York, and Toronto’s Massey Hall. Their work has picked up awards such as “Best Duo” at the Los Angeles Comedy Festival and “Producer’s Pick” at the Toronto Sketch Comedy Festival. They also staged a chronological sketch revue about history called ABOUT TIME which won the “Patron’s Pick Award” at the 2017 Toronto Fringe Festival. Templeton and Phillips also co-created the digital series WOMANISH for CBC Comedy, and have been contributing writers for THE IRRELEVANT SHOW on CBC Radio-Canada. Their short film noir DINETTE premiered at the 2018 Canadian Film Festival. Note: The Templeton Philharmonic also have a top secret audio project in the works that will be announced in 2018.
